Today we’re celebrating Addison Rd, Benning Rd, and Capitol Heights stations. 45 years ago, these three stations opened east of Stadium-Armory Station, extending the Blue Line by 3.5 miles. Together, these stations average over 12k weekday riders.

Automatic Train Operation (ATO) has been a game changer! Metrorail trips aren’t just on-time – they’re 96% faster today than they were in early June. As a result, trains may hold at stations to ensure they remain on-time and don’t get ahead of posted schedules.

🚲 Check out new bike lockers at Foggy Bottom & Eastern Market stations! Soon, 450 lockers, 50 oversized ones, and 100 self-locking racks will be available at 73 stations. Add in 75 repair stations and 600 new U-racks, and it’s a major upgrade.
