He was interviewed on WAMU’s Friday Politics Hour show a few weeks ago and gave a ridiculous answer to this (“I want it to legal but this isn’t the right way to do it!”) and then worked in that he finds trans people icky. He came off as a vapid idiot IMO.

You really can't change someone's mind by telling them they are dumb and wrong. That tends to make them cling to their POV. I mean, I'm not disagreeing with anything being said here, just pointing out that being right is less satisfying than having a functioning democracy.

We don’t know what makes us conscious, we don’t know if it is a brain phenomenon or something more complex, and we’ve only begun to understand some of how our brains work, but sure, Chat GPT is going to become a person any time now.
