in fact, may aegir were aware of the potential danger of the seaborn since it had ravaged their homeland but they were all ignored by iberian leadership who were singularly focused on national power.

yeah the aegir are blamed for "the profound silence" and all aegir iberians are collectively punished for it even though it had nothing to do with them. it's to the point that the deep role aegir immigrants played in iberia's past success is erased and suppressed to create that racist narrative

i don't know how the collab handled it but in arknights the inquisition is presented as pretty straightforwardly bad, regularly abusing their power, neglecting the people, and persecuting refugees. take anything from irene with a grain of salt because she was a bit of a zealot at that point
