Can I borrow $250 from someone to help him stay in his motel for two more nights? I will be able to pay back this $250 by the 1st of October, if not sooner.

We are so close. This is the last weekend he and his cats will be without a home and I hate I'm unable to help him the way I need to.

Things just keep setting Dan back, all because of the lack of immediate funds. How can someone disabled do a remote job without a home?

I'm taking a moment this morning to mourn the state of things. It's no surprise that everyone is struggling. The fact we have to help each other so directly because the systems built have failed us so terribly, should be reason alone to change things. And yet each year, each month, each day we move forward because our own literal survival is still paramount.

Thank you to those who have donated. I personally know how hard it is to try and support others while you yourself struggle. Waking up each day, not knowing if you'll have a meal or a roof over your head is luckily something most don't have to deal with yet.

For the forgotten and lost, it's just Another Day in Paradise.

Well talk about a rollercoaster of events for one week.
The job that Dan was offered earlier this week has been rescinded because he does not have an active
CA License or registration for his car.
This was not brought up during his multiple contacts and interviews. It wasn't until afterwards that this became an issue.
They want him to spend $600+ on getting things in order while seemingly ignoring the fact he's going to be on the streets this weekend if things don't change. And to top it all off, this was all with United Way, the agency he went to seeking assistance. They asked him to apply. How does the system built to help the homeless not understand this situation?
We will continue to try to get Dan and his boys into a safe place. Please reach out if you have space.
