Interesting. The way she was talking, she definitely wanted to give the impression that it was her decision, but perhaps that's just her wanting to project power/authority as someone with clear political ambitions (and political acumen, unlike Hochul)

The fact that Tish James is one of the best politicians we have in NY is mostly a testament to how hard it is to get anyone halfway decent elected at a statewide level.

Trump's attacks on her are completely bullshit, but as a politician, she has been rather disappointing - her actual actions and their impact simply do not match the level of fortitude she has in her rhetoric.

The indictment against Tish James is bullshit, but I’m not going to pretend I like her. She was a huge NIMBY as a NYC politician. As AG she brought a weak and politically motivated case against Trump. We need fewer lawyers in politics and more people who work to actually make government work.

grand juries, by design, only ever see the prosecutor's side. There's no defense attorney or judge. It's basically just there as a check on "is it even possible for this prosecutor to win their case, or should we just end it here?"
