I have a pro tip for you all: "everyone struggles" works best as reassurance for people who struggle an average or below-average amount. many people who struggle more than is typical, especially MUCH more than is typical, are not comforted.

I don't think self-inserts have to be the protagonist, or heroic, etc. I think you can just slot them in anywhere. you can "insert" them into any part of a story you want and give them as much or as little focus as you feel

little known fact about me: before pixels i was trying to become a tattoo artist, but as soon as i had my portfolio ready, 2020 happened and it got too hard to find an apprenticeship 💔

but lately i've been thinking about pursuing tattoos again 💭
