To get around text-limits, I enclosed the bulk of my message in the image below.

This is also an important article on why the current mindset on the issue is self-defeating

This one sounded really nuts but it's actually legit.

"Scientists from Western Michigan University are pushing a plan to supposedly ‘fight climate change’ that involves deliberately spreading a dangerous tick-borne disease that can trigger a lifelong fatal allergy to red meat.”

Forced Meat Allergies: An Unethical 'Thought Experiment' from the Bowels of Bioethics
It may sound like an Alex Jones fever dream, but there are real academics proposing to deliberately infect people with a tick-borne meat allergy to mitigate the effects of climate change. It sounds wi...

While I'm grateful Trump hasn't: I'm honestly amazed we haven't seen him figure out a way to justify violence against the protesters to this point.

I think he will eventually figure out a way to do so, and I wonder if anything can be done about it that's legal (morality is negotiable if it works).

... every member of the GOP would be buried under the jail and about half the DNC probably would as well.

Further, employing Trump's tactics against his followers would be a useful strategy since they obviously work, the key here would be to simply flip the script for a greaer good.

... sticking it to the man by pointing out that he's owned by the man.

It's not untrue, as he was bailed out by Wilbur Ross who worked for N.M. Rothschild & Sons following the collapse of the Taj Mahal Casino in the early 1990's, and if it were illegal to use dog-whistles, virtually... (cont'd)

...I obviously don't like that, but I am curious if it's ever okay to use a dog-whistle to counteract right-wing groups? For example,. if you told Trump's supporters that he's owned by the Rothschilds, that could greatly undermine support for him since it negates his claims he's... (cont'd)

... which I'd imagine would not only endanger marginalized communities, but also set in motion a state where people could be disconnected at whim (after all, if an ID can be given, it can be taken away)

The second one is almost certainly meant to be a dog-whistle, and... (cont'd)

Well, the first nations listed are honestly more likely to be used to make this as a national security issue which is more dangerous as it can justify repressive legislation such as The SCREEN Act (S.737 & HR.1623) which requires mandatory ID for online internet access... (cont'd)

Given the argument that we're in an "A.I. Arms Race" with China is nonsense (as evidenced by China's imposition of guard-rails on AI): This seems more about helping his cronies out.

Are there any environmentalist groups able/willing to oppose this?

Trump’s approval of the 211-mile Ambler Road Project through Gates of the Arctic National Park hinges on winning an “AI arms race.”

Calling out hypocrisy is a very powerful thing: Look how many GOP politicians ran on anti-gay agendas were brought down by being exposed as being gay?

I don't know how many people would have even been bothered by the person merely being exposed as gay to be honest if they didn't trash gay people.
zipper730.bsky.social
@democracydocket.com / @marcelias.bsky.social are there any groups that can oppose this while the shutdown is currently in effect?
zipper730.bsky.social
Ironic for a gay guy to be forcing evangelicalism on others: Doesn't the old testament command death upon gay people?

Disclaimer: I do not support harm to people who are LGBT+, I'm merely pointing out the absurdity and hypocrisy of his outlook
zipper730.bsky.social
I think it's important that people in the US & the UK who are opposed this start working together and form coalitions.

We also may be able to cover each other's blind-spots and help each other out.

Please share/repost.

Letitia James and James Comey have the best lawyers on earth and will almost certainly be fine. The fact that there’s a zillion stories about them and virtually none about NSPM-7 - which affects countless ordinary people - really says something about who the media writes for
zipper730.bsky.social
Also, you can sometimes undermine their faith in Trump supporters by telling them that he's owned by powerful financiers instead of fighting the deep-state

Which is kind of ironic since he claimed that he's a christian and his favorite passage is very personal to him: Two corinthians, not second corinthians.

You know, two Corinthians walked into a bar...
zipper730.bsky.social
Well, keep hammering away on that, and let's make this whole Jack Smith thing trend.

Because he attempted a coup against the United States...

Isn't it amazing that his followers still don't realize that if they had succeeded, they would have been put up against a wall and shot afterwards as they'd "outlived their usefulness".

Revolutionaries eat their own.
zipper730.bsky.social
Exactly, he went from "they raided my home for no reason" to "I already declassified those", to "you planted them" to "I want a special master (i.e. and give those back)".

His followers are stupid and desperate and see their "out" in him.
zipper730.bsky.social
Entirely true, but has Donald Trump ever let facts get in the way of a good narrative?
zipper730.bsky.social
Yeah right, Donnie tried that awhile back. The logic was remarkable

"I preventively declassified the documents you planted, oh yeah, and give 'em back"

Most pretzels have less contortions than that
