There are some loopholes. Bought a four year old car last week, was £750 off if you bought it on hire purchase. Did that, then called the finance company the next day, withdrew from the agreement, paid it off in full and paid no interest. Cheaper than buying cash and own it outright up front.

I cancelled my preorder as soon as the Game Pass news came out. A grand for a console and £30pm for GPU is beyond what I can irresponsibly justify to myself. And I usually find it very easy to irresponsibly justify things to myself.
