also when I say “almost” it was just like being in middle school and being impressionable so like trust me when I say I was someone who didn’t (and honestly still doesn’t) play about neopronouns and unironically loves furries and dyed my hair blue and ran my queer Instagram account like the navy

oddly enough I think I watch them bcoz of the morality behind their content??? there was a moment in my life where I almost fell into an alt right pipeline (I was a HUGE onision and leafy fan) but I think dnp being sincere and good people while also being funny was proof enough to me that u don’t

need to be edgy to be funny and I look upon them fondly as millennials do to mister roger and infants do to miss rachel like they were just good role models by not being insane bigots trying to milk children for their money and that’s a huge draw to me that makes me respect them so hard as creators

obviously this was reversed when I was in like 7th-8th grade (2016) but the role they’ve taken in my life 2018 and on has sincerely been just about the videos and like /presence/ so the hiatus was tough for me but I still rewatched their vids throughout so it was like they didn’t rlly leave 4 me

but in this case I do have a slight sentimental thing towards the comedian because they’ve put bits and pieces of their personal life out there (coming out and depression mainly) but almost all of those deep feelings of nostalgia and comfort rlly are a product of my imagination not /the comedian/

like I watch them like I’m watching a comedian set like yes the stories/jokes r based on the comedian’s life and laughter is healing and I have a deep emotional connection to whatever consistently makes me laugh but I don’t claim to have a deep emotional connection with /the comedian/ yk
