Did some research. Since 2010 there have been 23 NFL teams to reach the conference championship with a top 5 scoring defense. Those 23 teams are 14-9 in the championship game. But...of those 9 losses, 6 of them were to other teams that also had a top 5 scoring defense.

I would have gone for it. If you don't get it Miami might be a little conservative if they get down the field knowing a FG still ties it. Now they have to score a TD and it would still win. If you convert 4th down its game over.
