Approaching Forrester Pass, 13,200’. Highest point on the PCT. Successfully navigating 400 miles of the Sierra Mountains, a small part of the Pacific Crest Trail, was never a given. In fact the opposite. We experienced a 50% attrition rate.

Post holing in the Sierra Mountains, 2023. Best to wake at 2am, then start by 3am to avoid soft snow and post holing by 11 am.

PCT mile 220, Whitewater River. There are over 50 creek and river crossings in the 700 mile desert section of Pacific Crest Trail before reaching Kennedy Meadows, gateway to the Sierra. Only 2500 miles left to Canada. :)

San Jacinto viewed from the east. You are seeing 54 miles of the PCT as it basically follows the ridge. It traverses south from Paradise Valley Cafe, mile 152 to Snow Creek, mile 206 near I-10.

Just another day in the Sierra, PCT 2023, roughly mile 900. Days from any exit trail head or town. Was fantastic.
