Made some progress on the #3dprinted ASW 15 RC glider build. I've only been waiting 2 years to finish this build. Now that the kids are out of the way for a weekend, it's full speed ahead! And yes, that is 1.7m long (or it will with the rudder). That's 67" for non metric heathens. 4m (13') wingspan

Building a Voron StealthChanger with 5 toolheads. It's time consuming, but so satisfying. The magnet hold on the system is strong enough to keep a fully loaded stealth burner in place even upside down! #voron #3dprinter

I usually don't want to join the political discussion about the USA online. But I will just say this:
Trump was president before. He got voted out, because he wasn't doing a good job.

You voted him in again.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Isn't that the saying?

At this point looking at the US government and constitutional crisis, the only thing that comes to mind is a proverb my dad (US born and raised) repeated to me and my sister a lot as we were kids: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
The US reelected the problem child president.

I'm sad to say I will be missing out on #LBX2025. While it was planned that I would go, it's been a bit more of an adjustment than expected with the second baby. Add on additional factors such as an increased antagonism between the NY state and the federal government, protests and repression.../1

Just had a bit of an epiphany to explain my misgivings about ai while chatting with my father earlier.

Auto correct is the ancestor of all AI models, really. AI makes the same mistakes autocorrect does on your phone. But it's just a lot more clever at disguising those mistakes.

This morning at breakfast after a rough night with the baby little sister, the big brother is being loud. I remark:
- That boy is very loud.
- Good thing we only made one of them then.

This is why I love my partner.

More CNC work was done. For organizing CNC bits and collets in the drawer. And yes, those are 3d printed bristles for the dust boot.

Walz: "The idea that the secretary of education would not know what IDEA is -- individuals with disability in education act -- that's like your mechanic not knowing how to put air in your tire. And she's in charge of this nation's education progress. It is catastrophic."

That's it. I've uninstalled @mozilla.org 's Firefox. I was using it because it was the remaining browser around that *isn't* chromium based. And that was privacy-focused and respected users.

Was.

By removing the guarantees of their not capturing, recording & using our browsing data they lost me.

So I managed to shoot all the ducks in a row twice today. Kind of an auspicious thing, in a dreadful news cycle. Hope isn't dead, it's just found in unlikely places to remind us there's still fun and good things around.

I'm seeing a lot of folks are pushing the printed world conference in Amsterdam. I'm sure it'll be a fantastic #3dprinting event. But my 2nd kid is due mid April. Poor timing, or I'd have gone there for sure!

But for the Europeans, there's the Swiss maker faire happening June 28-29! Makerfaire.ch

Asking all #3dprinting folks with a CR-30 belt printer: how do you calibrate the belt tension so that you get good adhesion all across the width of the belt? Mine sticks in the middle and lifts up as soon as I'm 20-30mm off to either side of it. Looking at you @repkord.bsky.social
