Speaker of the Legislature John Arch of La Vista, through a staffer, confirmed to the Examiner that he does not plan to bring the bill back up this year.

This was a bill that Gov. Jim Pillen highlighted in his State of the State.

A Nebraska bill related to antisemitism training for public schools and universities got derailed after Sen. Brian Hardin allegedly told Sen. Megan Hunt, “You are really really wet.”

Hardin denies saying that and said she “twisted” his words. The bill was passed over.

The bill to slow Nebraska's minimum wage is back on final reading. It's likely to pass today, as it only failed because a Republican lawmaker wasn't there during the vote last session.

My only take on WP layoffs: it sucks, and there are people I deeply respect who are directly affected by it.

But journalism will continue as it always has. Others outlets will step up.
