my textbook
a quiet, no-frills Japanese camp-cooking drama
the minimal dialogue really works for me

installed an OS on a used macbook i just picked up
i really love working under constraints like
“this only runs on this OS”
or
“this can only be made on this mac”

i just like having a place where i can talk about the things i love
my favorite books, movies, art
the places and moments i care about
i really like that kind of space

i’m not interested in the opposite at all
including the people who live in it

pretty much the classic choice for IMUSA pot lids is the batchstovez one
but this DAISO leisure-cooker lid i tried today is actually pretty great too
it’s stainless so it has a nice bit of weight to it
feels like it’d be really solid for rice cooking and stuff tho
December 10, 2025 at 11:40 AM
the DAISO leisure-cooker lid fits the IMUSA pot perfectly
and the leisure-cooker itself can use my favorite 味覇 lid
this whole combo is kinda perfect

kinda proud of this new carbon-felt stove
lid off = full blast
lid on = slow warm mode
and somehow it runs for like 1h20min on just 15 mL… which is wild

the red lid on the right has nothing to do with it btw
it’s just from my favorite seasoning can
thought they looked cute together, ha

kinda wanna go on this tiny solo mission
find one of those old watch shops a town only has one of
and pick up a cheap CASIO
no phone, just those station maps
feels like it’d be fun to get a lil lost

ngl i’ve been brainstorming in this weird posture
and i just keep knocking out like this
then the cold just… wakes me up

tbh i never thought i’d end up finding the bottom of a soda can kinda beautiful
not until i got into hiking and everything started hitting different

i made this tiny ultra-low flame burner just a moment ago and it already heat-ran itself into a full burn and scorched the body
fuel amount and pot distance can probably prevent it next time
still… the texture it left is weirdly beautiful, something i could never make on purpose

testing a tiny low-flame alcohol stove
it’s meant only for keeping things warm
both the main chamber and the sub-chamber have carbon felt built in, so the fuel stays steady instead of flaring
the goal is getting around 30 minutes of burn time from just 5mL
November 24, 2025 at 6:42 PM
for me, making alcohol stoves isn’t really a “hobby”
it’s more like building a tool that becomes part of the view i get to see with it
it’s fun, sure, but the feeling is different—more like shaping something that’ll walk the trail with me
November 23, 2025 at 7:46 AM
making coffee on a mountaintop with water i boiled on my tiny diy alcohol stove
it feels like a quiet little luxury, and sometimes it really feels like i’m living just for that moment
maybe that sounds dramatic, haha
November 23, 2025 at 7:41 AM
been tweaking my carbon felt stove again and i think it finally hit the personality i was chasing
regular felt stoves still have that liquid behavior, and i kinda wanted something that runs on vapor only—clean, steady, predictable
