Sinking Venezuelan vessels has negligible effect on drug smuggling. Venezuela plays little to no role in smuggling of fentanyl. A 2024 DEA fact sheet indicates that 90% of cocaine reaching the U.S. enters via Mexico.
So, is this theater or is it part of a sensible interdiction program? 🤷🏻♂️

I grew up in a working class family. We didn’t support billionaires. If you’re a working class American why are you supporting billionaires instead of unionized workers that vote their interests?

When I was a young man I believed that America was an idea that transcended race and religion and ethnicity.

The reality here is that these performative interdiction actions don’t appreciably reduce the entry of drugs into the country. The people killed are not drug kingpins; they are disposable minions, easily replaced. If you believe this reduces the entry of drugs, you’re gullible.

The meaning of America has always been in conflict. Is it a Christian nation of western European culture or is it a diverse country of shared political beliefs? Watch and see it play out.

I’m old enough to remember when government policy allowed ordinary people to accumulate wealth and buy a home. Now the system doesn’t work for ordinary people trying to build wealth; it works primarily for wealthy people who want to preserve and increase their wealth. That’s not sustainable.
