Win of the year for @sandiegowavefc.com last night. The most needed, the most important, and one delivered in poor conditions on the road, after a weather delay. Probably, probably, a win that puts them in the playoffs. Time to get three more next week at home!!

Then, Dan Whitney joined me to review the entire second season of Peacemaker, including a surprising (and disappointing) season/series finale. Find the Crossing Streams podcast in your phone’s podcast app today, and thanks for listening!

Super funny to see a sad-faced manager taking out his pitcher down 6-1 in the third, facing a three game sweep, and he has to wear a sweater that says “Built For Fall” as he walks out there

Tomorrow (Monday), @chromaniacs.bsky.social will join @sandiego.futbol to break down the SDFC win on 2 Balls & a Mic, filling in for @chiva.sandiego.futbol who is in Japan.

With Tony a little under-the-weather, we didn't have a Chromaniacs post-match show last night. But, what a needed win for SDFC! For the points, the record, the shot at first...but more than that, a spark on offense and a #9 that truly contributed. Pellegrino coming off the bench might the thing.

Thank goodness. Tati and Manny managed to conjure up three runs and some of the best relief pitching you’ll ever see put the Padres into the win column. Tomorrow, with both key Cubs lefty starters used, the offense might have a chance 😅

this aged like fine wine

It’s going to take some special performances by the Padres’ stars tomorrow to keep their season alive.

I say this with confidence knowing the team will use a sub-optimal lineup configuration and offensive strategy at every chance. So it’s up to the stars to paper over the built-in error.

No changes for the Padres lineup, so don't expect much change in their production.

Mike Shildt was literally told that Craig Counsell is going to exploit the obvious righty/lefty lanes he's created in his lineup, and his response was to re-offer the same lanes today.

Welp. I hope Tati homers.

So now we have to stand up for (checks notes) Tylenol. Tylenol is fine. Good, even. Good for the world. Thanks.

Shildt bristles at any question that ISN'T the same ole pablum.

I have almost no problem with his actual managing, and have said many times that if he never said *anything at all* I'd probably like him a lot more. I just have ZERO room in my life for gaslighting in sports. There's too much irl.

During their current 9-14 stretch, the Padres at one point won five-of-eight against mostly the Rockies, at which point Mike Shildt took reporter Kevin Acee to task for asking about their struggles, asking him if he knew the win % pace 5-of-8 was (101 wins).

The win% pace for 9-14 is 63.3 wins BTW
