This was 2.2 seconds slower than Pecco’s qualifying time at #Jerez but that’s expected at his 1st outing.

This is why I’m against Sprint races for all events.
Sprints should be listed as races, but only for certain venues (the OG circuits like Assen, Le Mans, Brno, Silverstone, and Jerez), and track time remain the same for those weekends.

I ask this because, an injury replacement rider is not a “Factory” rider. Not even a wild card entry is a factory rider, even when they race four or five times a year.
As far as I’m aware, Ducati has its 2 official riders and a test rider that would fill the “factory” rider criteria.

Troy Bayliss was on the Factory Ducati team in 03-04 seasons, where he had lots of DNF’s & only 4 podiums. In 05 he was with Honda for half a season. He was asked back for the final race of 06 by Ducati & won. Is this what u r referring to?

I agree that Ducati picking MM93 over Jorge had a very negative knock on effect to not just Jorge, but also Pramac. Both decided that money was more important than winning. That decision has seen both parties at the bottom of the standings, and I don’t see that changing next year either.
Part 2. But to discount him and say Mir, Diggia, Marini and Bastianini will be in more demand is a stretch, IMO. I concede FA54 is a probability though. Pecco is a 2 time world champion and runner-up. This is no easy accomplishment. I think they will figure things out this winter and he’ll be back!
