Apparently, in order to prepare Dr. Zhengliang's role, Xiao Zhan lost 7 kg in a short period of time!
He also worked on the Northeastern dialect, practiced medical procedures, and even meticulously hammered out psychological details!

Liu Zhengliang is a quirky individual, having grown as a obedient, good kid from a poor family.
He would settle for a salted duck egg with some leftover rice in the morning, never complaining to his parents. After starting work, he started eating his own food and didn't spend money recklessly.

Every morning, he'd have milk and a boiled egg, a habit he'd never part with for years. He would never tire of it, even if asked. For lunch, he would have a bowl of rice with a serving of Shanghai greens, and only order minced pork and green beans during festivals.
In the evening, he would have a bowl of porridge or a serving of boiled corn.

His clothes and trousers are uniformly black and white. He would buy four or five of the same style at Uniqlo and switch them up. If he suddenly wore a colorful scarf, the nurses at the hospital would discuss it for hours.

He showered every morning and evening, and every Sunday morning at 8 a.m., he hung his four sets of sheets and pillowcases on the clothes drying rack under the staff dormitory.
He always marked the time he opened his bottle of mineral water, meticulously writing down the details with a signature pen, a professional habit similar to the nurses administering IV drips.

He doesn't make friends, especially because he doesn't know how. He doesn't fit in with the traditional Northeastern people. He lives as if he never needs to ask for help from others, so he doesn't need friends. Friendships are simply relationships that exist during a specific timeframe, based on mutual need.

Liu Zhengliang's journey from high school to doctoral studies and then to a job at China's best hospital has been one of constant struggle, constantly eliminating all competitors. It's like a marathon: by the time you reach the final stage, your starting teammates are long gone.
