Is a figment of your imagination. Possibly a piece of undigested lumpy mashed potato, maybe an unfortunate jackalope. The figment writes things no one reads. http://linktr.ee/93418 Avatar photo by http://www.cgpgrey.com/

I figure I should probably pin an introduction post.

I'm a writer, reviewer, and general nincompoop. Most recently, I've been writing Classic Comic Compendium weekly for @comicsbeat.bsky.social for the past 2+ years. I much prefer spreading what I love than not.

With a framing narrative of The Projectionist as Mickey Rourke shows the damned their stories at the Rialto. It doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense.

Slade's contribution looks like the black and white sequences of Max Payne. There are some interesting ideas here, but it's one of the ones I feel drag on for too long.

Similarly with Garris' own Dead. The morality of some of the characters also making you wonder.

Kitamura's Mashit is a gory possession story. It's probably my favourite of all of them. Nice cinematography and a story that actually feels complete. Many of the others kind of leave their endings open.

His opening short is kind of a twist on the teenage slasher. Two twists to it, really. With some of his absurdist humour thrown in.

Dante's piece is kind of Eye of the Beholder from Twilight Zone. I think it might be the weakest of the shorts outside of the framing material.

It's a mixed bag as these things usually are. Some pieces feel like they end only as they're getting going while others' length feels interminable. There's also a feeling almost as though some of them are making fun of their subject material. Granted, Brugues' stuff often feels like that.

I've been re-watching the Masters of Horror television series over the last little while, so figured I'd pick one by its creator for this prompt, Mick Garris. Him putting together this anthology with one who also contributed to that in Joe Dante, and another 3 more recent horror maestros.

It's a fancy burger joint with a liquor license now.

The first six issues of The Boys were Wildstorm.
93418.bsky.social
I actually think it might be The Shadow, but there could be another. Even if that's a license.

Is this the first time ever a character published by DC (through Wildstorm) left DC and then came back to DC (even if as a cameo)?

HOMELANDER FROM THE BOYS WILL BE IN DC KO.

How long until the executive order "outlawing" full body animal costumes?

Or is she?

Newspapers and history books might say that she died in 2013, but can an undead iron lady truly ever die? Dan Dare probably says no.

It's still kind of funny that possibly the two whitest guys involved in the relaunch as writers were left out that picture.

And that not letting Kristi Noem in to use your washrooms is tantamount to treason.
