Maybe Pei Ming asks for his ancestors for forgiveness for not marrying before he left(ascended) and adds Shi Wudu’s tablet in a place where his wife would be. He bows alone and asks if Shi Wudu’s soul may rest in peace in his house. He’d happily marry the ghost if the ghost is willing.

I also wonder where would Shi Wudu’s memorial tablet go? He and his little brother were chased out by scheming family members. So their ancestral hall is— where? I can’t remember if they actually got it back.

Like— imagine Pei Ming kneeling before Shi Wudu’s grave on the anniversary of SWD death and apologizing for his incompetence. He couldn’t save them, couldn’t save anyone. In fact, he couldn’t even save himself in the final battle.

The Rain Master had to save him of all people.

But SQX is unwilling. He doesn’t want help and he doesn’t want care, especially from a god of such esteem.
