Since the 1930s, virtually every Democratic president with a significant social-welfare expansion has been called a socialist by the Republican Party. The most frequently and consistently targeted: Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. Somehow we survived.

This is Greg Bovino. He’s the leader of the masked goon squads terrorizing Chicago. Two thoughts: (1) It hasn’t been cold enough for that coat, and (2) He may think a 1930s Hugo Boss look is a subtle wink-wink to MAGA Republicans, but it’s not. We all get the History Channel. #Chicago

Trump's 90k sq ft ballroom is so large it could seat 7,500–9,000 people, depending on staging, service aisles, etc. For centuries, presidents have managed diplomacy without a space the size of a convention hall. This will be a monument to his ego. It will be costly to maintain and sit mostly empty.

A dear friend of mine found out I'll be traveling to Lisbon in January, so she printed out a map, marked it up with all her favorite haunts and dropped it off at our building. How sweet is that!
