I finally got my hands on my contributor’s copy of NATURE MATTERS, edited by Mona Arshi and Karen McCarthy Woolf.

My poem takes us to a small Ti Marie or touch-me-not plant growing at the centre of the Queen’s Park Savannah, just before it shuts to the touch.

I have three new poems (‘Epithalamium’ ‘Anti-Epithalamium’ and ‘Prothalamion’) published over at COMP: an interdisciplinary journal. Thank you to the brilliant editor, Jaydn DeWald. Just in time for Pride. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨

Congratulations to Deepa Bhasthi and Banu Mushtaq, winners of this year’s International Booker Prize. We’re hugely honoured to publish HEART LAMP. Our deepest thanks to the judges and, indeed, to all of you who have read and loved this extraordinary collection.

Poetry aglow with the strangeness of living.
— Andre Bagoo

Cohesive and constantly dismantling... Ingram reminds us that we are far from alone.
— Troy Cabida

a broadsheet collage of urban historicity, tuned to the scale of a razor.

Nothing is safe from collection!
I asked, What’s in the cupboard under the stairs?
You mean the spandrel, said Dr Molden,
pulling a jotter from the shelf. He flipped to the index.
Sixteen boxes of archival papers
beginning November ’84 and ending whenever I—.
He dragged his thumbnail across his neck
as if beheading were the only way to stop him.

SALE BY AUCTION
January 9, 1769

Everything must go. The genuine
and entire household furniture,
China, and wearing apparel
of Mrs Stephens* deceased in her late
dwelling house on X.
Sale to begin at eleven in the morning.
(No end-time stated. Incidentally,
the doomsayer who now dwells in the dwelling house
shoots pamphlets through my letterbox.
They ask in Caslon font
WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?
Simple: be taken in by the doctor
or let the flames tickle you to ash.)

*Under common law, the property – and everything inside it,
including her – belonged to Mr Stephens, who presumably
submitted the ad and pocketed the proceeds.
