Hi fellow Bluesky #runners 👋. As a quick intro, I’m a trail runner, coach, and writer! I’m hoping to connect with others who are also passionate about running, the outdoors, words, and sharing the experiences that shape us as athletes and people. ⛰️
Yesterday marked 8 wks from my 2nd emergency lung surgery. I’m working through the grief & identity shift that comes with a health crisis. I hope that by sharing, I can reach others also facing darkness, and that we might sit together in it and emerge transformed. #run

Athletics (and running) are comparative by nature. It’s up to us to determine how we handle comparison. Do we allow it to sap us of our joy? Or do we channel it into growth?

We live in a world that constantly demands more stimulation, but running gives us the rare chance to do less. To embrace repetition, simplicity, and yes… even boredom.

In my latest Substack, I dive into this and more!

If you ever feel like the Superfeet insoles are too heavy/bulky, check out Currex insoles. They are much lighter and less cumbersome in my opinion.
How do you feel about running on the treadmill? Sometimes doing a few workouts indoors can make going outside more appealing!
My tip? Keep those easy days easy by feel instead of pace. Then hit your workouts as prescribed. You’ll have better recovery between workouts and you’ll be more likely to get the most out of every hard session in the program!
Check out the WeeViews Strava club! We have an awesome online community of runners. Plus, the website has a database of authentic firsthand reviews of running gear and events.
That’s how it all starts! Welcome to the running cult 😂👏
Sifan is incredible 👏
Anyone here using an AI run-coaching app? 🤖 🏃‍♂️ As a coach I’m truly curious about the appeal compared to a human coach. Is it cost, convenience, a combo? 👇 #running
Speed is all relative—there’s always someone faster. The sole fact that you ran a marathon makes you an exceptional human being. Keep going! 👏👏
Hey #runners 👉In my latest Substack, I reflect on what it means to embrace risk, reframe failure, and cultivate resilience. If you’re ready to push past your comfort zone and take on your own “Season of Send,” this one’s for you.

Hey #runners 👋 what are some training/racing topics you’re interested in? 🧠 I’m brainstorming article ideas for freelance work and I want to know what’s on your mind lately. Whether it’s related to nutrition, recovery, specific types of workouts, mindset, or something else entirely, drop a comment!
Hot take: there should be some kind of conversion chart for Nordic Track Treadmill miles to normal treadmill miles. Something like every mile on the Nordic Track counts for 1.25 miles on a normal treadmill. #runners #treadmillrunning #running #run #trailrunning
When was the last time you did something completely out of your comfort zone? 👉 I took my very first ski lesson yesterday (at the age of 28). Excited to ease into the sport of #skimo in my off-seasons from #running. Any other #trailrunners on here who do skimo? 🎿
Interestingly enough, some of the chronic GI issues that runners have when it comes to training and racing can be the result of under-fueling. The GI system is like any muscle and needs to be used. If we aren’t eating enough generally, our gut will actually start to shut down a bit/atrophy.
Under-fueling is more of a chronic issue that leads to performance declines and health issues whereas “over-fueling” happens on an acute basis and usually affects one performance negatively, but not long term health.
Those are all great points. For the most part, when I think about under-fueling, I’m considering the combination of daily nutrition and intra-workout nutrition not meeting the needs of energy expenditure. GI distress from “Over-fueling” within an event is often the combination of factors you listed.
Hey #runners 👋 have you ever asked yourself what under-fueling feels like for you? I think it’s a really important question every runner should think about, as under-fueling can manifest in different ways for everyone. #running
2024 is quickly coming to a close. What are some lessons you’ve learned this year in the context of #running? I wrote about mine here 👇

I think it’s totally normal to have ebbs and flows in motivation. The whole idea around “the rule of thirds” is a helpful guide for evaluating your training. 1/3 of the time you should feel great, 1/3 neutral, and 1/3 like training is the last thing you want to do.
I find it really interesting how runners often fall on two different ends of the spectrum. As a coach, I’d say about half of my runners have me as their accountability to make sure they do enough. The other half have me there to hold them back from doing too much. 😂
Currently re-reading Daniels’ Running Formula cover-to-cover. His principle of Diminishing Return sticks out to me.

“The fitter you get, the less benefit you get from training harder.”

Friendly reminder: for #runners who are coming back to running after injury, if you’ve been cross-training, you might be ABLE to hop back into running your usual paces/frequencies/volume. But that doesn’t mean your body is ready for it yet!

The celebration of those “little” wins contributes to greater sense of enjoyment in the process, and as a byproduct of joy, the race results improve too. 🙌🙌🙌
