Toughening gun laws? That's the only compassionate way to respond to shooting. Thoughts & prayers never stopped any killer.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese vowed on Monday to toughen Australia’s already strict gun laws, after the country’s worst mass shooting in three decades killed 15 people and wounded dozens more at a Jewish holiday celebration in Sydney.
Albanese Vows to Toughen Gun Laws After Deadly Bondi Shooting
The police said on Monday that they expected to bring criminal charges against the surviving suspect, who is in a coma after being shot by the police.

Gov't should protect us, not offer thoughts & prayers.

"Constitution, is designed to extend law such that both “the blessings of liberty” and “domestic tranquility” can be preserved. Law brings freedom and security together at a higher level than we can achieve as individuals without it."

2026 is big year for US elections. Elections are swayed by social media. Many media accounts are fake, but there's little users can do to spot a fake account.

tRump, billionaire controlling other billionaires, will insist on more fake accounts, which are cheap to create. Shouldn't tech regulate?

We don't actually trust AI.
We trust the companies behind it.

As Maria Antoniak notes, every "private" chat flows through corporate systems with long histories of data misuse. If we care about AI ethics, we need to name power, not anthropomorphize models.

Maybe people don't know what MEASLES can do in 1 to 5 out of 1,000 cases:

- acute encephalitis, inflammation of brain

degenerative
- fatal central nervous system disease can occur seven to 11 year later
- blindness
