Please please let me know why you suddenly want to call. Don’t just say, “quick call?” Or straight up call me out of the blue

If someone tells you something exciting in their life, it’s absolutely ok to just listen and be enthusiastic instead of saying that it also has happened in your life.

If you have to tell people you’re busy all of the time, out of the blue, are you actually busy?

Feels like everyone is so grumpy these days and impossible to have a conversation with

Today was the first time in awhile I used a pomodoro while working, and it helped immensely. Felt like I’ve been losing focus with this migration process for our server side code and state files whilst also changing the syntax to what’s expected.

Starting learning Go and I’ve been enjoying it so far. Using this opportunity to learn Go while also relearning a lot of lost Neovim commands I once knew.

I’ve really been enjoying getting back into Neovim and tweaking it again.
It’s been awhile since I touched it.

Why do some devs like to message with, “huddle?”

Why wouldn’t you add more context?

Today I found out I could use AutoHotkey to assign alt + n (any number) to a certain window/app that is open. Such a fast way to switch between apps in my work environment.

Hey Aaron so the I want you to work on two projects, but I want you to focus on one, but I also want to bother you all of the time and let you know how we need to get the other project done asap.

Yay.

You ever have that problem where you want to read different genres and topics, that you never fully complete a book?

My Goodreads/StoryGraph is sad. So many unfinished books.

My manager says I take great notes, can I add that to my resume? 💁🏻‍♂️

When I think, “I was born in the late 1900s”, it feels kind of gross to say.

Really not enjoying working on two separate projects at once for work.

How does someone that’s already in the tech industry, network via social media?

Before I became a dev, it was easy to message people and ask for a coffee chat on how to get into the industry. But now that I’m here, I’m not sure what I would say as an opener?

Spring is around the corner. So read to get back into climbing after this little hiatus.

Looking forward to climbing at the free outdoor climbing gym that was created. 🧗‍♂️

Non tech PM’s are the worst. Why do they think every single thing somehow magically takes a day?
March 6, 2025 at 4:35 PM
How come in tech, no matter how obvious you convey that the following task is a proof of concept, you still have that one person that can’t help but say, “ah but yes shouldn’t the images be displayed this way”.

🤦‍♂️

Apparently Xfinity doesn’t understand that people work from home. Why would you spend the whole day doing “network enhancements” instead of doing it at night like most work is done?

I’ve been a dev for a little over 3 years now and definitely think of myself as still new.
A few days ago, a dev who I thought was doing a pretty decent job, who has been in the industry for almost 2 decades, was let go.

They told me that I’ve been doing a great job. I should feel good right?

Going to give Bluesky a try again. I X(Twitter) sucks. Threads became annoying with its algorithm and always showing me political crap. I just want to surround myself with developers and those in the tech industry.

Is being that person that says “actually, it’s Frankensteins monster, not Frankenstein!” make someone a bit pompous or a know it all? Asking for a friend.
