This tells us the truth that the MSM don't want us to hear. The Labour Government is desperate to force new nuclear plants to be built in Scotland. Apparently we are denying Scottish people jobs by refusing them. On the plus side, it appears that we could be saving Scottish lives by refusing them!

This is good news. It's good to have news media who can give a fair and balanced account of today's Scotland. Sadly, it is quite a rare thing!

No-one could mistake BBC Scotland for Hans Christian Andersen but it seems that both of these parties loved 'ferry tales'...
Don't believe what you see on the BBC unless you fact check it. What IS their Scottish fact checker? BBC Very-lie?)

Absolutely! I have no idea why Cook wasn't shut down. However, the BBC were, forcibly, trying to misrepresent the situation. They are very good at edits which suggest otherwise. My goodness, they are so twisted that even Trump is taking action over their distortion! Why they needed to do that... 🤷🏼‍♂️

I understand that the BBC can't help itself when it comes to negative spin about Scotland. However, when deaths have occurred, it should be top priority to ensure that anyone affected understands the truth of where responsibility lies.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was legislation in place to make it illegal for politicians to tell such blatant lies? They could be prevented from standing for office ever again.

Anas Sarwar. Does a man so lacking in scruples deserve to become First Minister? No. No he doesn't. Please vote carefully in May. 🙏

Is the BBC an extremist organisation? Telling their journalists not to refer to the kidnapping of Maduro as a kidnapping is just the latest in a long line of shameful acts by the much unloved institution.

I agree completely. I would be very much against that. There are many people from England who live in Scotland. They are new Scots and would not be repatriated down south against their will. People from outside the UK who live in Scotland would be welcome here. They, also, would be new Scots.

Like many things, this would need to be settled as part of the separation agreement. I have no political position whatsoever and so my opinions have no bearing on what will happen. Still, I am sure that an independent Scotland would be sympathetic to those living here on such a visa. We need people!

In this Scottish election year, it is worth noting the distorted lies of the unionist media.

Scottish independence will allow us to make our own choices about our relationship with Europe. We have a chance to make a statement of intent with next year's Holyrood election.

There does seem to be a fascination with the red part of the Union flag. I wonder where that comes from...

If they haven't got the resources to investigate their own politicians then in what way are they fit to govern the UK?
November 25, 2025 at 9:50 PM
Fair point! I do the same thing. Although I live in a country where Labour say that they will work with Reform to keep the SNP out. All integrity out the window. Labour would adopt fascism to keep Scotland from self-determination. It'll be difficult for many to forgive that. I won't...
November 8, 2025 at 11:15 PM
I feel your pain. Not much of a choice between Labour/Tory/Reform. The Greens look quite good, though. Polls suggest that they may be unable to beat Reform, though GE is a long way away. We live in interesting times, sadly!

To be fair, I never said that he was stupid. I was trying to guess what another poster was getting at. We shall see where they take us all but I hope, sincerely, that WM does this without Scotland. I will be much happier with a government which tries its best for the population. I have high hopes.
November 8, 2025 at 9:23 PM
If you're saying that it's not baffling because he is stupid then that's one opinion to have. Otherwise it is baffling (to me at least) why he wants to make Labour unelectable. 🤷🏼‍♂️

So, you are saying that the welfare bill being 'too high' matters more than whether those in receipt really need their benefits? Make the benefits money fit the budget. Don't rejoin the EU and save tens of billions per year, though. These policies help indy but I do feel sorry for those affected.
November 8, 2025 at 12:24 PM
Rejoining the EU is not only possible, it is inevitable. Why not stop haemorrhaging billions by rejoining? Starmer should be held accountable.
November 8, 2025 at 12:13 PM
I agree with you about the role of the media and the many mistakes of the Tories. But they inherited a £20 billion black hole. Other parties said that before the election. Labour said 'wrong' - until they got into power. Now this will get worse due to Brexit. Yet they will not rejoin. It's wrong.
November 8, 2025 at 12:05 PM
But they think that the elderly and disabled should bear the brunt of tax hikes. They failed to save Grangemouth refinery or pay the WASPI women despite promises. They are trying to force disabled people into work even when it's impossible. They won't reverse ruinous Brexit. Migrants policy is sick.
November 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM
It is true that MSM support right wing politics. The BBC is almost a fan club for Reform. However, my opinion of Labour comes from their actions. Much of what they do is abhorrent. Where I live, they are unpopular because of what they have done.
