We shared our stories related to educator shortage (teacher recruitment and retention), importance of full funding of IDEA (early intervention, special ed, and higher ed training and research grants), and importance of mental health support and professionals in schools.

With UMD’s Institute for Public Leadership Seed Grant’s support Nay & @veronicakang.bsky.social from UMD Special Education & PGCPS Infants & Toddlers Program administrators Megan & Cortney attended Council for Exceptional Children’s Special Ed Legislative Summit to advocate for special education! 👩🏻‍🏫📚

A few days ago, Ariel and Lisa led a group of members of our coalition organizations to meet with several delegates on the Health and Government Operations Committee. They introduced the coalition and discussed the Language Access bill and the DDA budget. What an impactful day!

Last week, these dedicated individuals presented at the 26th International Conference on Autism, Intellectual Disability & Developmental Disabilities in Clearwater Beach, Florida!
