A #BestVsWorstReview of #NineSols
best: Challenging boss fights with snappy combat mechanics that are difficult yet satisfying to master.
worst: Linear world design means exploration is sometimes on autopilot, and segments between checkpoints can be long and tedious.

A few weeks back I complained about the state of the #GodotEngine asset library, and now they've got a new store beta that solves all my problems! Wow, if I knew complaining on the internet could be so effective, I would've started years ago! 🙃

About a week ago I released Sticky Scribe as a Godot addon to the Asset Library. But the library is so minimal that there's no metrics or comments or anything. It's kinda frustrating, exactly how am I supposed to know if anyone is even appreciating my effort? gitlab.com/ace24713/sti...

A short #BestVsWorstReview of #XenobladeChroniclesX
best: Wonderful progression, quests and exploration feel rewarding and satisfying.
worst: Repetitive Skell combat makes some of the mid/late game encounters feel dry, slow, and occasionally tedious.

After using #UnrealEngine for a little bit now, what strikes me is how much more purpose-built it feels than #GodotEngine. Unreal feels like it was made to create games, Godot felt like it was made to create anything, and with great flexibility comes a great capability to shoot yourself in the foot.
