It took me a long time to grasp the turn of phrase "you can't X, let alone Y". I've heard it for years but could never wrap my head around it until I decided to sit down, listen to a bunch of examples, and finally understand its usage.

Finally watched Paranoia Agent after all these years (thank you @spwinktap.bsky.social). I only had vague recollections of this show, captivated by its bizarre opening blasting my ear drums when I woke up from an ill-timed nap sometime around 2-3AM, with Adult Swim on the TV.
