Donkey Kong Bananza is pure dopamine. Breaking stuff is absurdly fun. There's a weird ugliness to character models that makes them interesting to look at. The sound and music is delightful and weird. Main characters are overly expressive (though half the NPCs are rocks with google eyes). I love it.

My time is rather limited due to having to work a non-games full-time job and I do have some health things on the calendar in June and July, but the portability of the Switch 2 gives me just enough time to get in more gaming to be confident enough to pull off more reviews this summer/fall.

I picked up Monster Hunter Wilds and I love it but I Demon's Souls has such a grip on me that I actually played it in favor of MH on launch day. Wild times, I tell ya hwut.

I also got to hold an 8-month-old kangaroo and be around a ton of animals. It was awesome! There were so many excited kids and people of all cultures enjoying the critters. A few autistic families were having the time of their lives and it was uplifting to be around joy.

The world is scary and I'm having it rough transitioning into a job outside of #gaming but I was gifted a healing experience by my partner that made things so much better. I got to pet and hang out with Capybaras at Sustainable Safari in Maplewood, MN! They're so cool and calm.

Having a job outside of games is bizarre. On one hand, it feels familiar because I used to write reviews in between news broadcasts as a production assistant in 2015, but being able only to write after working a full day is abysmal.

It's really cool! The only knocks I have against it is the game's fps fluctuates pretty bad and there are moments where I would want more presentation rather than just a written description.

Whatever this retro fps dungeon crawler, exploration, elder scrolls tribute genre is, I want more of it. I'm already pretty familiar with Lunacid, but what other games have this tone and style?

Getting through the main quest and some side stuff at my own pace took about 40 hours and I could easily put another 10-15 into it with side quests. Multiple outcomes to quests and lots of things to discover makes it an explorer's dream.

I played mostly on Steam Deck at 40fps
