Watching in absolute awe the news about gene therapy tonight.

You’d like to think that if human ingenuity can do this we can overcome all the sh*t we do.

I know, I know, I’m naive but you have to retain hope or what’s the point?

I cannot imagine what those who decide what programmes will be purchased were thinking.

Bit fishy.

Well I’ve just seen a performance of La Rondine and I think I’m now a captive of opera.

Which is a turn up for the books.

Thank you to idiot motorist who wanted to run a pedestrian crossing when I was half way across.

Good for both of us that you woke up just before you hit me.

At least you were decent enough to have a look of horror on your face.

Don’t worry though- you probably wouldn’t have faced a jury.

Laura Kuenssberg just said that people in the City are fed up with the Labour party fighting with itself.

They must crave the return of the Tory stability we all experienced.

And now onto Badenoch who served in the Truss govt whose chancellor was Kwarteng & says Reeves is the worst ever.

Eh?

Wednesday: Reeves must go because the economy is awful.

Friday: Reeves must go because the economy is less awful than anticipated.

Coming soon: Reeves must go because the economy looks like it is improving but she didn’t do it.

And they wonder why no one reads newspapers any more.

Boycotting the first day of the first conference of the political party you’ve just set up is quite the look.

Currently playing chez nous:

The Pretenders- The Isle of View

A live, acoustic record. Beautiful playing, beautiful singing.

Takes me back a long way to seeing the original line up. I’m pretty sure it was in Manchester.

That Dr Lecter was always so nice and polite. We always shared a bottle or two of Chianti with him at Christmas.

I remember very well being subjected to antisemitic abuse by one particular individual at school when I was 11.

He was a nasty little shit.

You don’t forget it so don’t listen to nonsense about kids not being able to recall it.

Every govt should employ a person who is identifiably responsible for the future “what if” of a pandemic and to be in charge if/when it happens. Their day to day job should be monitoring and preparing.

And no I’m not an expert so I can’t say how to do it. But doing nothing is not an option.
