To everyone who introduced themselves to me this week at #GDC, I'm so grateful to you. It was a surreal honour and absurd privilege to feel like I was at home in a place I've never been, among friends I've never met.
I’m excited to be part of ALT: GAMES—Sydney’s brand new festival celebrating the Australian games community! Join me for ALT: Play, plus hands-on games, industry talks, and interactive experiences.
I'm taking your efforts in good faith but I have to say, I think Bluesky is a poor platform to share such a message. I really think that most readers would see the graphs and these posts and come away more confused.
In your own graphic, the only image that has a tick against "pixel perfect" is functionally identical to what I would describe as pixel perfect, so by your own standard we're just talking about dolphins.
If there are under-the-hood differences, your graphic isn't sufficient to explain them.
I trust your voice in this topic but when it comes to pixel art games in off-the-shelf engines like Godot and Unity, this is how the terminology is used. The Unity engine itself has a component called "pixel perfect camera" that scales and snaps content to a low res texture.
