I’m “de-niching” away from Xs and Os. I miss just covering the Cs in all the weird and wonderful ways possible.

No idea how that looks though 🤷‍♂️

The corner 3 is working for the C's today.

It's only accounted for 7.3% of their offense this season (lowest in the league) - down from 13th last season.

But, with Scheierman having a hot hand, and more focus on spray offense, it's been a legit weapon in the 1st half...

With Neemy out, I’d expect to see some more small-ball from Mazzulla in the coming games.

Will also be good to see what Garza can do with an increased role.

Was a big fan of those 2nd quarter small ball minutes last game

4 minutes into the 2nd quarter, Joe Mazzulla made a tweak to the Celtics' rotation.

That tweak led to Boston winning the remaining possessions of the qtr by 17 points, and set the tone for the rest of the game.

I explore that tweak, and it's impact

Really good piece by Adam on what a lot of us deal with covering from out of market. He's not THE person I was talking about yesterday, but one of them to be sure.

Doing this from a distance is a tough ask.

We don’t get the access, opportunities and oftentimes respect that those in market do. But, we’re doing a very similar job, while making just as many sacrifices.

Closed circles within the media are blind to happen. Still, that doesn’t make it (1)
Was talking with a coworker today about the challenges of covering a team out of market today. A lot of folks with in-person access don't realize how hard it is to do this job without the ability to build relationships with face-to face interaction, but for many of us, that's what we work with. (+)

Three members of the Celtics had SOLID defensive nights against Memphis.

Derrick White defended 11 shots, allowing 3 makes 27.3 DFG%

Jordan Walsh defended 11 shots, allowing 2 makes 18.2 DFG%

Josh Minott defended 17 shots, allowing 4 makes 23.5 DFG%

After yesterday's DeMar DeRozan trade proposal from ClutchPoints...I thought it would be fun to look at some realistic trade targets for the Celtics, with a focus on adding depth to the big-man rotation.

Jaylen Brown has had FOUR 30+ point nights in his last five games.

In those five games, he's averaging:
29 points
4.8 assists
1.2 steals
3.4 boards
66.2% from 2
32.3% from 3

The Celtics haven't been taking many corner threes this season. It's one of the bigger changes from recent years.

According to Cleaning The Glass they didn't take a single corner threes in non-garbage time minutes last night.

Having someone cutting baseline out of the corner is a neat wrinkle

Lot's more off-ball activity to start this game.

Here the Celtics run "Angle Ram" to get a Minott/PP screening action.

Followed by running "Chest" for White to flare out to the weak side slot.

PP goes for the step back. Good process nonetheless. Way better fluidity.
November 6, 2025 at 10:41 AM
Celtics go back to the Chest action here (player executes a ghost screen to come off a flare screen) PP turns down the shot and finds Neemy on the lob.

The movement so far has been SO MUCH better

I took a *probably too early* look at the White and Pritchard’s struggles to begin the season.

- What could be causing their slump
-How has their volume changed
- How has their shot profile changed

And dove into why their slumps could be occurring.

The slump won't last forever, but right now, White and Pritchard are both STRUGGLING from deep, going a combined 24-of-109 from the perimeter -- a combined 22% conversion rate from deep
