We like to think we're tough but fair @friedegggolf.bsky.social and two of our biggest gripes with the PGA Tour have been the misuse of sponsor exemptions and a lack of pathways for young talent.
Luke Clanton's battle for a card this week addresses both complaints.

A Cut Away from a PGA Tour Card
If Luke Clanton makes the cut this weekend at the WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, the Florida State junior will earn his PGA Tour card.

I had fun watching TGL last night! All in all, it was a solid debut for the new simulator golf league. We aren't going to overreact to the first night, but there are certainly improvements to be made going forward.
TGL First Impressions
We took notes during the first-ever TGL broadcast on ESPN, which ended up being a pretty successful debut for the new simulator golf league.

A new report points to a PGA Tour and Saudi PIF deal inching closer, but plenty of questions remain.
One thing that’s clear is LIV Golf isn’t going away anytime soon. So, will the league exist as the Tour’s new friend or old foe?

As PGA Tour and Saudi PIF Deal Inches Closer, More Questions Still Remain
There's been a major update regarding discussions between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, but questions still remain.

Jay Monahan said "fans" 30+ times at his State of the PGA Tour this year, but little to nothing has been done yet.
I genuinely hope the Creator Council brings some positive change but this reeks like nothing more than a checked box for the Tour to say they tried to do something for the fans.

Chamblee and McGinley need to be in the studio. Faxon is better as a fill-in voice. Bones brings more as an on-course reporter. Donald is too busy prepping to kick Team USA’s ass again. Mickelson went to LIV.
Given the options available, NBC made the right choice with Kevin Kisner as lead analyst.

NBC Makes Right Call with Kisner (Given the Options Available)
There's a better choice out there, but he's virtually impossible to hire.

After a revolving door of talent tried out this year, Kevin Kisner takes the lead analyst role for NBC.
Brandel Chamblee needs to be in the studio, which makes Kisner the clear choice. While he wasn’t great in 2024, it was his first year. Kis will work fine, but I don’t think he’ll move the needle.

As someone who spent 10 years on a muni maintenance crew, I’m loving these All Grass is Local videos.

The coastal par 5 stretches to more than 600 yards and features a centerline hazard and island green. Our team doesn't love it.
