On the risk of neighbourhood health being dominated by the NHS, he said: “Social care must stand alongside health, not behind it or underneath it.

@blimeysimon.bsky.social sets the context for the session using @ipsosintheuk.bsky.social polling to show that, unprompted, most people don’t see adult social care as a high priority for the public. He says we need to do more to get people’s attention first and foremost.

This apparent shift in the government's position is very welcome news. 👏

In the summer, we wrote to the government alongside @adass.bsky.social urging them to implement LPS, which has been put on the back burner for too long. It's encouraging that Ministers have listened and responded.
