The books get a lot better with Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance. There is a very stark writing style change/improvement from Eldest to Brisingr though. And for the original book being written when Paolini was...16 I think. I think it did a good job. Better than Twilight at least.

I tried to re-watch it a while ago, knowing what is in the book vs movie is just hard. Still my favorite Saphira design though. I like the new one that Paolini and Wraithmarked are doing with the statue, but the movie one will have a soft spot for me.
