people need to get more willing to tell their friends when they're wrong. friendship doesn't equal unquestioning support nonstop. yeah, you might fight and you might lose some friends. i think that's better than constantly avoiding conflict and building up anxiety.

While it was all a carefully constructed lie to keep me under his finger, and the person was made up in the end... I'm still ravaged by the trauma of losing a friend to suicide at a young age, and being convinced what I'd suffered was real for like 6+ years onward.

My idiot coworker who's a very clueless gay guy voted for Trump but now is nervously asking everyone why they think Elon did the Nazi salute. I can hear the regret and concern in his voice when he talks about it. "Haha.. why are people saying told you so.. you guys see that?" Yup, told you so.
