It is damn hard to do a remake and make it work. I thought the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th did a damn fine job remaking the original Jason slasher while adding a bit of a modern touch to it. Is it campy? Yup. Was it good? I think so.

I love a good haunting. This movie did well to tell a little self-contained haunted house story. It didn't go too far. It was tight and organized. A solid horror for those not looking for the gore.
