Panel 1: Zinnia looks upset off in the distance, the city's been lit up with fireworks. "Fireworks!? No, no no! NOOOOOOO UGH!" She falls backwards onto the blanket.

Panel 2: "We missed it!" She laments "This is all my fault... If I hadn't gotten all... I'm sorry..." Chris comforts her, lying on the blanket beside her. "Hey, don't beat yourself up about it! There's always next year, right?"

Panel 3: Zinnia looks over at him a little shocked.

Panel 4: Zinnia smiles. "Yeah."

Panel 5: "Next year. Right here. With you."

Zinnia and Chris finally kiss, as the dark sky around them is lit up byu fireworks.

Panel 1: Zinnia and Chris from behind. Chris says "Hey. Do you remember the day we ran away together?"

She responds "How Could I forget?"

Panel 2: Zinnia and Chris in a dark, rainy city. Chris is in a sweater and dark jacket, while Zinnias in a trenchcoat and fedora over her suit. She's shooting her ray gun at someone, who's only illuminated by her blast. She reminisces...

"You, me, fighting for our lives... Against the U.S. Government and your old boss."

Panel 3: Zinnia in the same outfit, looking off screen angrily. "I was frantic. Terrified."

Panel 4: Zinnia smiling down at Chris, her freckles are now hearts. Chris speaks: "Of course! I was too, But... you know what i remember? Even through all the fear?"

Panel 1: Chris looks amused. Zinnia is flustered. "I've seen you naked more times than I can count, and you get flustered at a kiss on new years?"

"No! No, I-it's not like that at all!!!"

Panel 2: An incredibly well rendered Zinnia explains "That sounds utterly divine! And beautiful... and fun.... and.... eh-heh"

"But um... It may not be wise".

Chris asks "Oh? Why?"

Panel 3: Well... All the guys I kissed on new years... I haven't kissed since."

"Oh. Hm."

"Metro's busy with their new Zine career..." (An orange blossomed tulip person in a colorful outfit) "Delvire's on his planet taking care of his village...." (a one eyed fellow in orange with his many eyed daughter.)

Panel 4: The night shines around them as Zinnia explains further. "We were together, I kissed them at midnight, then in the new year, we drifted apart. I know it's probably just circumstance, but I can't help but wonder... Was there something in that kiss that started the drift?"

"And if it did..."

Panel 6: "Could it happen again? To us?" Zinnia clenches her fist in worry.

Panel 7: Chris puts his hand over hers, A comforting gesture.

Panel 1: 2 glasses of Space Wine are being poured. Zinnia and Chris are talking.

She says "Animal Lingere?"

He responds "No."

"Shattering a giant glass ball?"

"Nope."

"Torturing yourself with gym equipment for a week?"

Panel 2: Chris picks up a glass of Space Wine and follows up that last panel with "Kind of?"

"Check off the last years resolution as a job well done?"

"Definitely no."

Panel 3: Zinnia throws up her arms in exasperation. "Great! Turns out all my new years celebrations have been tainted with inauthenticity! I bet the whole "kiss someone at midinght" thing's fake too! I hope those people weren't all kissing me just to be polite.."

Panel 4: Zinnia takes a swig of Space wine, while Chris looks over at her with suprise and confusion.

Panel 5: Chris looks intrigued. "Nnnah, that one's real. You kissed people at midnight?"

Zinnia is mid-wine swig. "A few times, yes. Twas as fun way to ring in the year."

He presses on "With who? A friend? An accquaintence? A sexy stranger?"

She elaborates "Whoever I was with at the time! Mostly my scientific peers, or my best friend one year."

Panel 6: Zinnia finishes up her wine. Chris muses over his with a "Hm".

Panel 7: He looks over to her, "Let's do it then." And she's so shocked that she almost chokes on her drink.

Panel 8: Chris remains eye contact with her, holding his glass. Zinnia stares at him, alarmed and blushing a bit.

Panel 1: Chris turns over towards Zinnia. He looks incredulous and asks "So... Did you bring me out to this Remote, picturesque, cliff to watch wildlife or to make out sloppy style?"

She laughs and replies "Ha! Neither, actually!"

Panel 2: She says "Check the local date and time!" And holds up her watch, which displays it being new years eve, 10 minutes away from midnight. Chris says "Oh!"

Panel 3: We get a wide shot of the whole city and forest, with the two in the foreground. Zinnia is explaining "This city has a huge new years celebration. Their fireworks can be seen for Miles! ....Or from a conspicuous nearby cliff."

Panel 3: She looks off sentimentally "I figured since you left your planet right before the winter holidays..."

Panel 4: She finishes "We could celebrate together!" Chris looks on, touched. "Zinnia..."

Panel 5: He gives her a hug, incredibly happy "This is perfect! Cmere you!" She laughs along "You're welcome, Chris! I'm more than happy to participate in your human traditions!"

But she adds "Like topless champagne showers!"

Panel 6: Chris now has her at arms length, looking at her deadpan. "Ok, who told you that was a human tradition?"

She looks a little concerned "Uh... Internet?"

Chris is in disbelief. "Zinnia..."
