It's especially problematic in my content World Languages because language acquisition doesn't happen in that way at that pace. And it's still too textbook influenced even if no textbook is used. #EdChat #edusky

Jam-packed curricula may "look" rigorous because OMG allthethings, and applying that into a classroom setting is unrealistic because it's all cognitive overload with zero substance. #EdChat #edusky

#EdChat Topic: Is our idea of rigor helping students prepare, or just overwhelming them? How can curriculum design shift from cognitive overload to true mastery? #EduSky

We had this discussion earlier on my campus. New teacher incentive pay will be tied to teachers who do things outside of their contract hours further blurring what is expected of educators in our profession. #edchat #edusky

Tonight's #edchat topic: If districts continue to demand more and more of teachers, what can teachers do to establish boundaries around extra assignments that help them sustain their work? #edusky

I've learned that "just because it's the way it's always been done" does not mean that's the way it has to be done. #edusky #edchat
Too many educators resist student-friendly grading systems because that is not how they grew up as they went to school. #EdChat #EduSky

There are a bunch of different types of tech within education. I'm curious to know how they defined "tech" for this study. #EdChat

Tonight's #EdChat Topic: A recent national survey shows that administrators believe only about 18% of their educators are tech proficient. Your thoughts? #edusky

As DEI becomes taboo in many states, educators are being asked to individualize instruction—without acknowledging the inequities that shape student experience. In short, doing more with less per usual. #edchat #edusky

I will openly admit in heavily relying on AI to create my PD, but the product is by and large my very own including my own from the actual presentation to the tone and quality of the content within. #edchat #edusky

WELCOME to #EdChat Topic: How comfortable will you be with current models of PD being used in teaching teachers the skills, possibilities and ethics of Artificial Intelligence?

School admin and colleagues should NEVER EVER even so much as insinuate that their staff check their emails during off contract time, yet so many educators do and will because they've been conditioned to give their time away for free. #edchat

Let's follow the money... Graduation rates affect what schools and districts receive from a funding level. There are successful people at all levels of business who never earned a diploma and either earned a GED or nothing at all. #edchat
