The legal profession was probably one of the most prone to fascism after the military - a lot of jurists saw fascist law as a fun thought experiment (really given the way law school works I dread that this would still be the case) and a lot of the Wannsee process was making sure everything was legal

If anything bringing up Dresden, a thing that only seriously gets brought up as a way for Germans to claim that they too were victims of the war and why they generally don't tend to, just makes the argument unserious.

Dresden was going specifically against one of the main railheads in Germany and the main source for it being notoriously overkill is a guy who it turns out was a closet neonazi.
