Our very own Head of Finance, Tidus Wong, will be in Malaysia for LEVEL UP KL 2025 🎮 – the 11th edition of Southeast Asia’s premier Game Developers Conference, organized by MDEC. If you’re a developer, publisher, or investor and up for a coffee, ping him ☕.

Over the past decade, LEVEL UP KL has become Southeast Asia’s flagship game dev event, connecting local and international players through conferences, panels, exhibitions, pitching sessions, and the SEA Game Awards 🌏.

This year is extra meaningful as it also marks the finale of the MDEC Accelerator Program 🚀, which we had the pleasure of teaming up on earlier this year. Over the course of the program, we worked with a group of highly talented studios whose projects showed not only creative ambition but also strong commercial potential. It’s been inspiring to see the quality of ideas and execution coming out of Malaysia and the wider region – a clear signal of how far the ecosystem has come.

Southeast Asia’s games industry is growing at an incredible pace, with Malaysia leading the charge 📈. Thanks to the work of MDEC and countless grassroots initiatives, the region has made a huge leap forward in both quality and visibility on the global stage.

Caravan is a single-player, isometric survival game set in a dark, XIX-century world 🕯️ where every decision can mean the difference between life and death. It challenges players not only to survive but to lead, managing limited resources, navigating psychological tension among companions, and making morally complex choices that shape the journey. 🧭

What drew us in wasn’t just the game’s mechanics or art direction, though both are excellent - it was the sense of responsibility it places on the player. The weight of each choice. The trust you have to earn. The people you might lose. It’s rare to see a game where the systems and story reinforce each other this effectively. 🤝

Back from #GDC, running on fumes but with full hearts (and calendars). 300+ meetings, surprise side event with 60+ folks, and more follow-ups than we can count. Our most fruitful GDC yet. Massive thanks to everyone we crossed paths with - you made it special.

Back from GDC and running on fumes 😮‍💨, but our hearts (and calendars) are full.

This year was something else. Over 300 meetings between the five of us – from deep dives to chance hallway chats, casual coffees to fancy dinners. GDC 2025 turned out to be our most fruitful one yet, and we’ve come home with more work than we know what to do with – just the way we like it.

We were supposed to host a small mixer for about 20 people but word got out, and over 60 showed up. So yeah… it kind of turned into a full-blown side event (very fancy!). It was all thrown together at the last minute, and we definitely missed many people we would’ve loved to have there. Next time, we’ll do it properly - promise 🤞

Normally, we’d fill this post with shoutouts and tags, but there were just too many of you. So here’s a heartfelt, collective thank you 🙏 to everyone we met, reconnected with, shared ideas and laughs with.
