Trying to write, got an unpublished novel, The Errand Boy. Got some poetry under my belt, gone sober in Jan 2023. Ran a few marathons. Live in a lovely part of Yorkshire. No fascists, billionaires, s*x bots, A.I.s, DMs, politics or loonies, please.
Pinned
I came to Bluesky because X (not twitter) had degenerated into a right-wing / fascist hell.
From 20 Jan 2025 there will be no American politics on my timeline. I gave it 8 years, it gave me anxiety and disappointment. You let in the clown, he brought the circus.
Follow / unfollow, up to you.
Tonight's Samurai Sunday Cinema starts with the 1990 version 13 Assassins - not to be confused with the 2011 version (which is great). #Filmsky

Trying to go to sleep..... listening to a podcast on Dune, Gom Jabbar.
Got my sleepy tea and curtains open so I can wake up at 3am and check if it's snowing.
Also......my effing toes are killing from my long run today. How was your Saturday? 😅

A nice sunny 15 miles of mostly road running, a big round trip to Ilkley and back. I would prefer #trailrunning but I need to get consistent mileage and this is my longest run in an age.

Will I be warm enough on my run?
Not saying I'm procrastinating but it looks cold 🥶😅☀️

And......as a surprise to no one, here's a 'reboot with a twist'
I think Warren Clarke might have had thoughts on this.

Yesterday I was fuming about not getting anywhere with doctors or their econsult.
Turns out they switch off the appointment function in afternoon!!!
Anyway filled the details this am! I remember the good old days when you could plonk your arse in the waiting room at 8am and get seen!!!!

Book 2 of a 5 part biography on #ErnestHemingway by Michael Reynolds.
Say what you will about Hemingway, they wrote a hell of a lot of biographies about him.
He was a deeply flawed man and author but he is..... endlessly fascinating.

Why the hell can't streaming ever sort their titles or their apps out? Oh well, Last Days of The Boss, New Battles Without Honor Or Humanity on Arrow, more crazy Yakuza shenanigans. #Filmsky

I have nothing to say. So I'm eating fruit and nut and watching a YouTube Vice doc on the Salton Sea.

I know this is not helpful but next time a doctor's receptionist says it's 4-5 weeks for a non urgent appointment, i feel like saying what if we, taxpayers, withhold your salary for 4-5 weeks, would it be seen to then?
