In Medicaid patients with new OUD dx, methadone and buprenorphine were associated with >75% reduction in overdose risk. Only 30% received medication treatment.

Timely medication treatment is critical.

My agency is so proud to be a part of this vanguard. We are one of only a few rural-based drug checking sites, opening since 2023 Jan. We are now closing in on 1,000 samples observed.

I often talk about how society judges people for not getting sober but so rarely offers treatment for those with trauma/ptsd and other co-occurring mental health disorders. It would be more effective and cheaper (in the long run) to do so.
