Old age is a planet to itself where all those minor psychic and physical bumps and scratches are suddenly disinhibited taking on new and suddenly robust lives of their own. Anything that has been ignored or closeted is now lit like a Noir film, shadows looming over the everyday.

Finding new ways to provide hope is an important part of neurological practice but you wont find enlightenment in our journals or our textbooks.

Finding new ways to provide hope is an important part of neurological practice but you wont find enlightenment in our journals or our textbooks.
I found seeing patients, avoiding functions and committees, walking & listening to music & reading about important developments a way of reducing angst and creating flux.
I didn’t have electronic health records which allowed me time to think and carry out clinical research

For me medicine has always been a privilege and highly satisfying but i was given the opportunity to spend most of my time on patient care and clinical research, had mentors and a supportive firm system

Neurologists who believe the literature began with the internet are not only missing out but repeating in print what is already known. Perhaps it doesn’t matter but it does to me
