Bill Cassidy owes us all an apology and I want to see him put forward legislation to counteract the harm that RFK, Jr. is doing to our public health.

I can't believe, in the year of our Lord 2025, that we need to remind people that the United States Postal Service is not a business. It is a public service. It is not meant to make a profit. It is meant to serve everyone regardless of profitability, location, etc.

This this this this
The one year anniversary of Yoon's failed martial law takeover just passed and lots of untold stories came out proving that THE ONLY REASON KOREA IS STILL A FREE COUNTRY IS BECAUSE PEOPLE DISOBEYED ILLEGAL ORDERS.

The coup was over in hours because people said no.

Started a new knitting swatch last night. I've never used linen yarn before. It feels weird to work with. Does anyone have tips? It's not even all linen.

This right here. They could just stop, go home, and be back in Moscow in time to have their Christmas borscht. But they never entered into these negotiations with good faith. What they want is capitulation.
While "peace" negotiations continue, remember that Russia could simply stop the war at any time.

Joseph Brant (Thayendanegea). Wooboy. If we need an example of how "it's complicated" can be a person's entire life story, this is the guy. He was close with some pretty posh British lords, etc (He even met King George III).

He sided with the British during the Revolution.

Why don't we learn more about Benjamin Rush? This is a guy who pioneered public education, mental health practices, and medical education in this country. My favorite thing about him is how tirelessly he worked to create a people capable of sustaining democracy.

My first reading was a brief history of Phillis Wheatley, who was the first African American woman poet. She was enslaved, then emancipated, and inspired abolitionists of her time, as well as poets into the modern day.

This is your daily reminder that ICE MELTS WITH THE GENEROUS APPLICATION OF SALT.

Stay salty, America.

It's been a long time since high school civics class. For a lot of us. I'm going to try and find free civics and government education for myself, and I'll try to document the process here.

It's 20 minutes until midnight, and Hamlet has decided that RIGHT NOW is the time to become World Parkour Champion (feline division). Sigh.

Listening to a long historical narrative about the Great Stink of 1858, where the Thames became something like a barely moving cesspit that was so bad Parliament fucked off to Oxford the stench died down.

I feel like there are parallels to be drawn, here.

So now Denmark has set up a "Night Watch" to ensure that our idiot President doesn't try to seize Greenland in the middle of the night.

May he choke on a Big Mac and drown in a Diet Coke.

So let's get this right.

Our president appears to have planned to jailbreak Jair Bolsonaro via a convoluted plan involving a staged protest, a damaged ankle monitor, and the U.S. Embassy in Brazil.

Do we just play Yackety Sax when he enters a room, now?

I got my mom's cowl off the blocking board and tested it out. It's long enough to pull up as a hood, or slouch it as a cowl.. you can even double it up as a turtleneck. 100% superfine baby alpaca DK weight yarn on US6 needles. Linen stitch only.

I don't do selfies much. Don't @ me.

At this point I am willing to call Steve Witkoff an unregistered foreign agent.

He's certainly not working in the interest of the United States or out allies.
