Portland, Oregon is one of my favorite US cities. It is safe and beautiful and filled with amazing people. Loved being there last month and taking long walks all about.

Beautiful apartment building in NE Portland, Oregon that is not a war zone.

Awesome movie theatre in NE Portland, Oregon that shows indie documentaries and acclaimed horror films in an area that is definitely not a war zone

Hundreds of people biking on the interstate, which is closed to traffic because it’s good to close roads for lots of people to cycle and is definitely not a war zone.

The most dangerous thing I saw in Portland were these completely adorable bears at at Oregon Zoo which is absolutely safe and not a war zone.

I was in the courtroom when a DHS lawyer tried to argue that filming ICE equals encouraging incitement of violence.

A) Press didn't do that.

B) He denied DHS did things we caught on video. Which ... proves why press needs to film police/ICE/DHS.

Tonight, in the second largest city in America, I had dinner outside for several hours, and then, after 10pm, I went for a mile+ walk by myself. I didn’t see a single police officer nor a single thing that caused a moment of concern or fear. This is life in urban America in 2025.
