The one on the left played the annoying neighbour in a beloved 70s sitcom. The one in the middle can be found in the bar of Dr. Who conventions nursing a shandy and complaining about 'woke', and the one on the right wishes he was American and could buy an assault rifle.

"Young"? Maybe to tories.

The photography in this article really feels like The Times are deliberately setting these people up for ridicule. (You can read it without visiting The Times here archive.ph/KZZC1)
An article from The Times: "Meet the young Tories dreaming of a bright blue future". Featuring bizarre portraits of Charles Amos, Rhys Benjamin and Daniel Campbell.

Are pubs going to have to hire more staff to do that, or are they going to expect their existing staff to work longer hours?
Or are they just not going to bother.
Why are pubs the core of British politics anyway?
Don't they have more important issues to consider

Badenoch clearly not noticed that Labour are just as horrendously transphobic as the Tories are. If not more so.

Also shows attitudes which we used to mock as ridiculous nonsense and which are inching closer to power.

Guessing next year's Tory conference will be held in a local church hall or scout hut.

Can't help thinking that Keir Starmer telling people not to do something is going to make them much more likely to do it.

Boogiewoogie on a dummy keyboard. I’d rather not imagine that!

I vaguely remembered a previous revival of Call My Bluff and by the early noughties they’d sure made some bad choices. The BBC today would probably put Fartage in as one of the captains.

I'm behind on watching old #CallMyBluff episodes so need to catch up. I have been watching old #FaceTheMusic episodes and find it impossible to envisage a show that amazingly erudite being made today without being glitzed up and dumbed down.

Speaking of BOC here's one of the most bonkers songs they did. (There was a video but it's disappeared behind 'sign up to this site' walls so here's sound only).

Where the hell has this year gone?
A scene from the anime series 'Yuyushiki' where a character says "It's October already".

As tempting as it is to do a Nelson Muntz here, it's not Brexity Jimmy Dyson and sons (all permanent residents of Singapore, how patriotic) who are going to suffer from this, but the poor sods who work for him.

'But Starmer says he is not saying people who are considering voting for Reform are racist. They are people “frustrate” by the lack of change, he says'

I'd be pretty sure that anyone voting for Reform are racists, and won't be voting Labour no matter how Starmer bends over backwards for them.
ajshepherd.bsky.social
Constantly banging on about patrotism and 'patriotic renewal' isn't going to win Starmer any votes from the far right, but it is going to lose him a lot from people who find that stuff sounds kind of fascistic.

BBC Radio 3 very railway themed today.

They could have special incentives to use your Britcard. What about offering Red White And Blue Britcard Shield Stamps? Every time you use it you get stamps. Save enough stamps and you can buy excitingmerchandise. A flag. A flag badge. A flag waistcoat, Get the flag painted on the top of your car...

So what's the point?

"Leading climate figures and Labour MPs have urged Keir Starmer to attend the crucial Cop30 climate summit this November, after aides advised him not to attend for fear of attracting the ire of the Reform party"

WTF? There's no way he should be afraid of Reform, but I fear he'd not go anyway.

The Daily Fail's attempt to paint Starmer as being somewhat to the left of Stalin with today's headline saying "Socialism rules". I realise the S word may terrify Mail readers, but I can't think of anyone who'd describe this government as 'socialist'.

“Britcard” (puuuke). If it was an actual card it’d have the fucking flag on it. As it’s an app it wouldn’t surprise me if it plays the national dirge every time you open it.
