That and those types of arcs in general are typically errected to memorialize military conquests and victories. Assuming that it ain't for "his own personal Vietnam" it does beg the question of what "conquests" he's wanting to memorialize.

Oof, yeah. While I generally find the Halo novels more interesting that the games themselves, "The Flood" was easily one of the most tedious reads I've powered through. It's a novella (at best) trying to be a full-length novel. x_x
