No, I 100% agree that computer RPGs these days have too much handholding. I, too, yearn for the days of being able to spend hours crafting my perfect build from hundreds of available options, only to discover that it mathematically cannot survive the mandatory rat fight portion of the first dungeon.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

as much as i ragged on re:union for having the game pitch a fit if you pick easy mode, i do think it's funny they opened up with a disclaimer saying that the game was plot heavy and would require a lot of reading. which is an objectively good choice.

The Sega CD version of Eye of the Beholder is perfectly playable but does inexplicably have an all-timer soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro that sounds like he is using music to separate himself from his humanity after his partner drowned mysteriously

An important takeaway from feds infiltrating a signal chat is that they probably did it by getting a link posted publicly & then just lurking. For all the fear mongering about how "nothing on the Internet is safe," in reality signal & e2e apps are as safe as your security culture. Vet & hand invite!

that one pokemon youtuber hasn't realized that the youtube shorts voice is tolerable in youtube shorts but recording a whole video in that voice + use the same obnoxious shorts editing becomes VERY grating when its longer than a youtube short.

pokemon fangame devs who get whiny at the player when they pick easy mode shouldnt put it in the game to begin with if they hate it so much. you already forced the game on the set mode so you have nothing against taking options out of the player's hands, either give us an easy mode or don't.
